Great tool !

now4real offers a nice chat for realtime customers. I use it for LMS, so my students can chat together during their course sessions.

Setup is extremely simple (just one line of code). The team helps me for verifying manually the domain cuz I don't have access DNS and FTP as a Saas user :)

And then, I have added SSO (3 codes feature), so each student logged in can chat with his own nickname and his profile pic.

The widget is nicely customizable with colors, logo, etc..

Everything works perfectly ! Moreover you can edit the chat for being available for the whole website (if you have few customer at the same time OR if you have many many pages) or for each page (with its own current chat). It's really about the present time so each message is being removed few hours later, or few days or few weeks (according your choice).

So Cute! I love it!

Great for websites that are less "business" such as personal branding sites, community based sites and community based ecom sites. Any sites that people are passionate about and band together in a community is great for this.

Allows people to talk together instead of a strict looking customer live chat widget.

Really keen to know what's in their roadmap but they are not publishing a public one right now.

Downsides are, this tool is really in the early stage. The dashboard is boring, no wordpress plugin, lacking in proper tutorials. Nonetheless, installing this is easy if you wouldn't mind Googling up how to insert a piece of code in your website header.

the pricing model is quite special, considering that 2k hours could flow out only by 5 users that leave my website open on their chrome while working other tasks on their computers....

as this product is about interactions between visitors, you should link key metric to this element.

hope you reconsider, or i maybe i just do not understand the concept...

Please consider that the viewing time is calculated only when your website is displayed in the foreground. So, if a user opens your website and works on other tasks, your website will go to the background, and the timer will stop.

In other words, the Viewing Time is the total time your users spend viewing the pages of your website in a given month for real. This is also a useful analytics that is not available in Google Analytics.

This reflects our cost structure. As long as the page is visible, we keep a connection open, to update the counters and the chat, and we pay cloud bandwidth for that. So, the pricing model is directly related to the cost model.

@Mr.: Private chats (one-to-one) will be made available out-of-the-box in the future. For now, you can achieve them with a bit of coding. The workflow would be like the below.

When 2 users need to go private, you send them to a new URL, dedicated to their private chat, and you use Custom Auth to make sure only those two users have access to that chat.

@Rupesh: Not yet, sorry. We are focusing on the features for which we received more requests. Out-of-the-box support for private chats will not probably come in 2023.

That being said, you can already achieve private chats with a bit of coding. The workflow would be like this:

=> Unfortunately no. There is only one dashboard per deal (account).

2) Is white label available?

=> You can already change the logo and branding colors. But from a legal perspective, Now4real is the Data Controller (in GDPR terms). If you need Now4real to become the Data Processor, so that end users don't have a direct legal relationshio with Now4real, we have a white-label option, which is not part of this deal.

3) Is it possible to translate the chat widget's texts?

=> Sure. Several languages are already available but any new language can be added easily, thanks to this open-source project: https://github.com/now4real/localization

4) How well does this support RTL languages?

=> There's no support yet, but it's in our roadmap for when it become a hot topic from business perspective.

5) Does the software support writing in Arabic?

=> As above.

6) Where can I see your public roadmap?

@Vincent: Yes, you can emdeb the chat directly in your page and choose whatever size you want.

You simply need to define a div element in your page that acts as a container. Then, let Now4real know the id of the div. The Now4real chatbox will automatically adapt to the size of your div.

Let’s say you defined a div like this in your page:

@Vincent: Messages disappear after their expiry (configurable between 1 minute and 4 weeks) or if the history goes above 50 messages (this limit will be removed in the future).

Conversations are not threaded. You have a single flow of messages for each pagechat. But you can reply to individual messages to keep context.

Ifyou want to have multiple topics or multiple languages , you can separate them into multiple pagechats. A pagechat is defined by its page context. By default, the page context is determined by the page URL. But you can define contexts freely. So, for example, you could define multiple topics in advance on the same page and implement your own switch between topics and/or languages.

@Peter: It's Domains intended as Internet top-level domains. For example: google.com or nasa.gov. So, yes, you can consider them as different projects/brands/clients too. Subdomains are something like www.google.com, mail.google.com, etc.

Hi, My use case is this. I have a food website with 100s of shops that promotes their own food menus. I am thinking of implementing this on each of their shop page so customers can chat with the individual page owner for the shop. But, how do we assign a Shop owner or someone with authority when there are 10s and 20s customers chatting at the same time?

@pLUrkSt@r: That would work perfectly. You can assign the Moderator role to the owner of each shop. They will appear with a badge of your choice (e.g. "shop owner") only for their shop.

You can do that from the Roles section in the site Settings within your Now4real Dashboard.

@Vincent: It used to be on SaaS Mantra itself until a few weeks ago. I'll ask Sampath if he can reactivate it. In any case, you can play with the Now4real widget on our own site: now4real.com. It's the widget that appears in the bottom-left corner. On your sites, you can customize position, colors, etc. On our site, it uses social login; on your sites, you can user custom authentication to implement single sign-on.

@Vincent: The widget automatically appears in the browser language. Currently supported languages are: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Polish, Bulgarian, and Romanian. We keep adding new languages and we are open to voluntary contributions. The Now4real language pack is an open-source project hosted on GitHub.

With Custom Auth, you can define exactly which users can or can't see and/or post to the chat. You do this via a JWT token, as explained here: https://now4real.com/custom-auth-doc/

@Vincent: You have two options here.

If you use Now4real's social login, then a user can authenticate on one site and remain authenticated on other sites that use Now4real. In this sense, you can see them as part of the Now4real community.

On the other hand, if you use Custom Auth, you authenticate your own users and they can't use the same authentication on other sites that use Now4real. In this case, the community is restricted to your website.

My main issue with this deal is the fact that chat messages disappear after a while. To me, this is a deal breaker.

I'd like to use Now4Real as a real community, like Circle and others, where members can revisit their comments at any time and generate value.

Why does it not allow users to keep messages forever like other solutions?

@Dcruz: This is to stimulate fresh conversations and new instant communities every time. There are many solutions for hosting static permament comments, but real-time interaction is something different and more unique. It's a chat for users who are online at the same time. Furthermore, having ephemeral messages relaxes the need for manual moderation because messages disappear by themselves in any case.

We decided to set 4 weeks as the reasonable max amount of time a message can remain visible.

That being said, we are available to evaluate longer periods if there is an important business case. That would have impacts on our privacy policy too, where we declare how long we keep user data (and indefinite periods tend to be more difficult to manage with GDPR).

@Alessandro: It would be great if you could make this optional, so admins could decide whether or not to keep messages. It would raise the your App to a new level, cause with your powerful API, we would able to build our own communities.

Furthermore, when users see zero messages, they think the site is not engaged or the thread is dead, which discourages them from participating... I have worked with communities for years, and this really does happen. When users see comments from others, they are more likely to participate.

This would also allow us to use Now4real as a support forum, where users can check old messages at any time.

If that's not possible, it would be great if you at least gave the admin the option to pick the messages that they would like to keep.

@Daniel: Thanks for your precious feedback. That would probably make sense. We are currently working on making the history fully available for the configured period (overcoming the current limit of max 50 messages in the past). When this is done, it will be possible to extend the period to any amount of time, potentially even years. We will probably reserve the extension over 1 month to white-label customers, so that they can provide their own privacy policy.

@Denise Otoni: We should distinguish between technical and legal aspects. From the technical perspective, we will add the possibility of going back in the chat history for users too (this is already supported for the admin, via the Now4real Dashboard). Once this is done, we must change our privacy policy, which now poses an upper limit of 1 month for public message visibility. That limit was the result of several legal considerations and was the best trade off. If we find out that extending that limit poses legal issues (especially going for an infinite time spam), we should delegate the privacy policy to our customers when they want a longer range and this can be done through what we call "white label", meaning that we become the Data Processor (in GDPR terms), while our customer is the Data Controller. Without white label, we both operate as autonomous Data Controllers (see clause 1.8 of https://now4real.com/privacy/).

On the other hand, if we decide with our legal consultants that we can expand the message visibility time spam without legal issues, we will be more than happy to extend this feature to all our customers, without requiring to go for a custom white label contract.

So, it's not a matter of giving or not that feature to SaaS Mantra users. It's a pure legal matter. We'll decide how to proceed with this at a later stage.

A question: in a store where the monitors with the screens on the site are turned on most of the time for consultation...
